We celebrated GBBC by birding at Puttanahalli Lake in Bengaluru with a bunch of enthusiastic kids. With the breeding season underway, we looked at the life cycle of birds.
From observing Grey Herons incubating their eggs to witnessing a White-cheeked Barbet scouting for potential nesting sites, we observed almost every stage in a bird's life. To deepen our understanding, we also played the Bird Survivor Game that highlights the various challenges birds face throughout their lifetime.
We organise bird walks on various themes; read about them here.
We also heard from enthusiastic birders across the country who joined in the fun! Like last year, Early Bird's pocket guides have been a key part of the event, with around 1000 guides distributed to different regions. Thanks to these guides, birders have been able to identify and count a wide variety of birds.
Our pocket guides cover most regions across India and are available in 11 regional languages. Browse through the list, choose the one suitable for your region and go birding!
